Keyboard Shortcuts for Twitter
Many of these Twitter keyboard shortcuts use a single alphabet letter, making it easy to get to something quickly. Remember that these keyboard shortcuts don’t work in Twitter’s mobile app or the mobile browser site (mobile.twitter.com).

Twitter Glossary
Twitter isn’t exactly like every other social media platform. Therefore, you may need to learn some of these common terms used on Twitter.

Hashtag (#) | A way to group tweets. A topic of a tweet, like a label. |
@ | Precedes a username on Twitter. |
Block | Prevents someone from seeing your profile. |
Bio | The 160-character description that appears on a profile. |
Bookmark | A collection of your favorite tweets. |
Direct messages | A private message sent from one user to another. |
Explore | The part of Twitter where you can view trends, events, and topics. |
Follow | Subscribe to another user’s profile. |
Likes | A display of appreciation of a tweet, symbolized by a heart. |
List | A custom timeline made up of various accounts around a single topic. |
Mention | Using @ to tag someone else in a tweet or reply. |
Pinned tweet | A marked tweet that appears at the top of your profile. |
Promoted | Content that Twitter sponsors. |
Retweet | Sharing a user’s tweet on your timeline. |
Reply | Responding to another user’s tweet. |
Thread | A series of tweets a user links in succession. |
Timeline | Tweets for you to look at, usually in chronological order. |
Tweet | A 280-character post on Twitter. |
Verified | An account of an important person, marked with a blue check. |
