Overview of Features
Stereo-quality sound is the central feature of the 50W Tronsmart Bang Mini Portable Party Speaker. Thanks to two independent speaker cavities, you’re able to get incredible sound out of a fairly small package. The front cavity features two mid tweeters and one passive radiator for crystal clear treble, while the back cavity provides a bass boost, thanks to two woofers.
If you want to amp up the audio even more, just turn on SoundPulse Audio, which equals even better base and clearer sound. It’s easy to turn on and off based on what type of audio you’re listening to.
Of course, a great party speaker should go beyond sounding good. The Bang Mini Portable features three different light patterns that display on either end of the speaker. Switch freely between circle, beat driven, and breathing, or turn it off if you don’t need the colorful lights at the moment.
The ultra portable design (just over 5 lbs.) has a handle and will outlast most parties, giving you up to 15 hours of playtime per charge. Obviously, turning off the lights will help the speaker last longer. But if your phone’s giving out on you, use the speaker as a portable power bank to charge your phone.
Feel free to take it with you anywhere. Party indoors and outside without worrying about the weather. It’s IPX6-rated to keep playing even in the rain or for your next pool party. It has a range of 49 ft., giving you plenty of room to move around without your phone disconnecting from the speaker.
While the speaker pairs easily via Bluetooth, it just as easily pairs to another speaker via one-touch NFC for bigger and better sound for larger parties and areas.
Exploring the Speaker
The Tronsmart Bang Mini Portable Party Speaker includes the speaker itself, a user manual, charging cable, and AUX cable for physical connections.
All the controls you need are on the front of the speaker for easy access. Turn the speaker on/off, adjust the volume, play/pause music, turn SoundPulse on/off, pair your speaker, and switch between light modes. The top of the handle also includes a one-tap NFC connection.
There’s a small panel on the lower backside of the speaker. Open it and find all of your connections. The speaker includes a USB-A port, USB-C port, TF (microSD card) slot, and AUX input. If you don’t have Wi-Fi or mobile data to stream, store music on an SD card.
You can also answer calls, skip songs, and activate your voice assistant. The user manual includes a guide to how long to hold each button to access different features.
Pairing and Blasting Music
Pairing the Tronsmart Bang Mini Portable Party Speaker to my phone took seconds. I used the pairing button on the front, and it worked with zero issues.
Next, it was time to see how the speaker actually sounds. By default, SoundPulse is turned off. While the audio quality was good, it didn’t really have the bass that I was expecting. In fact, there was almost a muted quality to it, as if I was listening from a distance.
After turning on SoundPulse, it was a world of difference. Not only was the audio clearer and louder, the treble and bass were far better. I highly recommend just turning this on and leaving it on.
I had the speaker out in my backyard to see how well I could hear it when walking around. I had no trouble hearing everything clearly when I was around 30 to 40 ft. away – and this was with the volume around 50 percent. When you crank it up, you’ll hear it. It’s designed for smaller parties with up to 10 people, making it ideal for backyard cookouts and small indoor parties.
While I didn’t have another speaker to pair it with, I can honestly say if you spread out two of these, you’d have incredible sound for a much larger party.
Maintaining the Connection
I don’t like leaving my phone with a Bluetooth speaker. I’m always afraid it’ll get knocked off a table, or I’ll miss an important message. I noticed the speaker started cutting out around 45 ft. But as soon as I walked back into range, it immediately reconnected and started playing music again.
Long Lasting
While I didn’t throw a major party while testing out the Tronsmart Bang Mini Portable Party Speaker, I did spend a day outside taking care of various chores. I placed the speaker in a central location and left it playing for almost 12 hours. The battery never quit, and this was with the circle lights going.
Final Thoughts
I’d highly recommend the Tronsmart Bang Mini Portable Party Speaker for any small party or gathering. It sounds great and is super portable. In a darker area, the lights look amazing and add a great party feel.
