Very frustrating and I’ve tried many of the things on this list (and they are all good ones).
I have a Microsoft USB mouse. The fix regarding “distance” is spot on. I’m going to add to that and I’ve not seen this tip directly.
I use a USB Hub due to the many devices for my set up. Here is the tip: Line of Sight. If you are using a HUB, try repositioning the hub so that the USB receiver is at a good, direct line of sight to the mouse with no obstructions. My mouse was under 2ft away but a slight adjustment to positioning fixed the problem.
