If you want to track how hot your computer is getting, there are many ways to monitor the sensors inside your PC to see how toasty your processors are. Most of them show the stats on-screen and are perfect for checking the temperature as you work or game.
However, did you know you can turn an Android phone into a PC temperature monitor to leave your monitor uncluttered from stats? It requires a little bit of setup, but it’s very doable.

Set Up an Android Phone to Show Temperatures
The Remote System Monitor app can be used to get the temperature of the phone. Download this to your phone to get started.
Once everything is downloaded, you can boot the app to check the settings. There’s a lot to digest here, but if your phone and your PC are connected to the same router, you shouldn’t need to touch anything. However, if you want to use this app remotely, plug in your computer’s network details here.
Now that the app is ready to go, it’s time to set things up on your PC.

The PC app acts as the actual tracker for your temperatures. It also acts as a server that relays what it finds to your phone for it to display. As such, without it, your phone can’t do any logging!
You can grab the server software on TRIGONE’s download page. Once it’s downloaded and installed, run it. The software will then ask you for a password to stop other people from hopping onto your connection. Set one up and remember it; it’s the key for connecting to your PC.

Now that you have both apps installed, make sure the PC app is running. Look on the bottom-left; if it says “Start server,” click it. If it says “Stop server,” it’s already running, and you need don’t need to do anything else.
Open the app on your phone. If your phone and the PC are on the same Wi-Fi network, you should see it on the list of servers. Otherwise, tap the “+” button at the bottom right and enter the network details of your computer.
Once your computer is on the server list, tap on it. The app will then display all the information it can gather from your computer, including temperature. Along the top, you can select “Graphs” to see all your computer’s specifications. Tap on a graph, and you’ll be taken to the “Detail” tab for more in-depth charting on that specific statistic.
Other than remote monitoring of the temperature, your Android phone can also be used to test the battery of your TV remote control or even a remote control for VLC.
