There are times when you just want to disconnect from your phone, but having to send that important WhatsApp message just kills your R&R. If you are able to schedule important messages you have for the day, taking a break from the app makes it a lot easier.
A method for scheduling WhatsApp messages that works involves using an app called SKEDit. It’s free and also has some great reviews on Google Play that will show you that the app is worth installing.
How to Schedule a WhatsApp Message for Later
Once you have the app installed, you’ll see all the apps you can schedule a message for. Besides WhatsApp and WhatsApp Business, you can also schedule for SMS, email, calls, and Facebook. Since the tutorial is about scheduling a WhatsApp message on Android, tap on the WhatsApp option.
In the WhatsApp option the first thing you’ll need to do is add a recipient. To do that tap on the “+” sign. This is going to open your WhatsApp contacts, but just find and tap on the contact the message is for.
If you forget to add the time the message is supposed to be sent, the app will choose a time for you. That time is usually a few minutes after you create the message. To add a custom sending time, tap on the time right below the attachment icon.
If you want to send the message another day, tap on the Date option, and just choose the date you want the message sent. As I mentioned earlier, there’s also an attachment icon where you can send music, documents, images, or take a picture right on the spot.
This is all you have to do if the message is a one-time thing. If you need to send the message more than once, you can always use the “Repeat” option. You can repeat the message every hour, day, week, month, or year. Once you’re done creating your message, don’t forget to tap on the “Schedule” button at the top-right of your display.
How to Edit Your WhatsApp Messages Before Sending Them
Some messages are just too important not to give them one last look before you send them. To do that, make sure you toggle on the “Ask me Before Sending” option. What you’re doing with this option is mainly sending it manually.
This option does defeat the purpose of scheduling and then not having to think about it again, but it’s a good option for messages that need one last look. When the scheduling time arrives, you’ll get a preview of the message. You’ll see info such as it’s going to be sent to your contact and also the message you’ll send.
You can choose from options such as Send, Edit, and Dismiss. If you decide to edit, you’ll be taken back to the app to make the necessary changes.
Conclusion
By scheduling WhatsApp messages for later, you can save yourself some valuable time. With SKEDit, you’ll finally have a WhatsApp scheduling app that finally works and won’t give you any headaches. Do you think you’ll give the app a try? Let us know in the comments.
