How to Find Siri-Tagged Songs in iTunes

What was that song again? Not many people know that deep in the UI of the iOS iTunes store is an option to find songs that you have previously tagged with Siri. This article will cover how to tag songs with Siri and then how to find them later on in the iTunes store.

How to Tag Songs with Siri

When Siri gained the capability to tag songs with the integration of Shazam, it was a game changer, and it made the process much easier than before.

To tag songs, simply press and hold the home button on your device, or on iPhone 6s or newer, say “Hey, Siri.” Then ask, “What song is this?

Siri will now start listening for the song, even if it’s ambient background music. Try to keep your microphone as close to the sound source as possible, and be on a strong LTE or WiFi signal.

How to View Tagged Songs

To viewed music you have tagged with Siri:

1. Launch the iTunes store from your iOS home screen.

You can now play back samples of songs that you have previously tagged with Siri or buy them through the iTunes store.

Shortcomings

While this is a fantastic system in place for a quick tag, it does have its shortcomings.

There is no option to view previously-tagged Siri songs on the desktop version of the iTunes store. All potential purchases of previously-tagged songs would have to be completed on iOS, otherwise you will need to enter these songs manually into the search bar on the desktop version of iTunes.

Also, as of yet, there is no way to directly import these songs into your Apple Music library, Spotify, or anything of the sort. That having been stated, using Siri to tag songs is a great placeholder – and it is a far superior option than taking screenshots to save a song.

Happy tagging!
