Ecovacs DEEBOT T10 Omni Review: A Premium Clean

You have robot vacuums and then you have Ecovacs. The Ecovacs DEEBOT T10 Omni is designed to give you a premium, hands-off experience to cleaning your home. It comes complete with features you probably didn’t even realize you wanted or needed. I had the pleasure of taking the T10 Omni for test drive to see just how well it cleans.

Overview of Features

Even before setting up the Ecovacs DEEBOT T10 Omni, the feature set alone is impressive. This isn’t your standard robot vacuum.

Not only does it self-empty the dust bin for up to eight weeks before you have to empty it, it also cleans and dries the mop pads and places the dirty water in a separate tank.

Choose from four levels of suction, up to 5,000 Pa, for powerful dirt removal. Two rotating side brushes and a center brush with a filter reach most areas with ease. The OZMO Turbo 2.0 rotating mop system gives a superior clean with the dual mops rotating at up to 180 spins per minute.

The vacuum features a four-stage cleaning system for better overall cleaning. These stages include sweeping side brushes, a floating brush that rolls to collect dirt and debris, the spinning mop pads, and adjustable suction.

The T10 Omni is made to avoid obstacles with ease. AIVI 3.0 technology automatically recognizes common obstacles to clean around them. LiDAR navigation quickly maps the floors, while TrueMapping creates the most efficient path around all of your furniture.

Since floors aren’t always evenly dirty, Ecovacs added in AI tech to optimize cleaning based on the how dirty the floor is. Speaking of AI, this vacuum also has its own voice assistant – Yiko. Give Yiko commands just like you would any other voice assistant. A full list of commands is in the app, such as telling Yiko to mop or vacuum. You can also pair the vacuum with Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa.

Getting Set Up

The Ecovacs DEEBOT T10 Omni is surprisingly easy to set up. It comes with:

• The vacuum itself
• Docking station that includes two water bins, mop pad storage, dust bag for self-emptying, and a cleaning brush
• Power cord
• Side brushes and mop pads (easy to install both)
• Quick-clean multi-tool
• User manual and quick start guide

The Quick Start Guide is really all you need to get started in minutes. The vacuum was around 70% charged when I first took it out of the box. I let it charge to about 80% before the first use.

All I had to do was plug in the Omni Station (docking station), download the companion app, and connect the vacuum. The entire process from unboxing, putting the brushes on, and connecting to the app took about 15 minutes.

My very first impression of the T10 Omni was how easily it located and entered the Omni Station. Usually, it takes several tries before a robot vacuum gets this right before the initial mapping. No issues at all here.

It is a large vacuum with the station and may not work well for smaller apartments and rooms.

The Initial Vacuum

The user manual recommends leaving the mopping pads off for the first run and only vacuuming. This is to allow for better mapping and object detection as the Ecovacs DEEBOT T10 Omni learns your home.

The mapping process took about five minutes for three rooms, and the vacuum picked an efficient path that allowed it to clean around furniture quickly. I went with the Auto settings at first. This gives you Standard suction, which is a 2 out of 4. Since I have cats and a lot of hair to clean up, I bumped this up to a 3.

It cleaned up hair just as well as an upright vacuum without me having to use the highest setting.

I have to admit this vacuum returned to its docking station faster than any other robot vacuum I’ve used. It lined up easily and correctly the first try every time.

You have to toggle on the automatic emptying for the dust bin. However, it worked flawlessly. While the manual and product description lists 60 to 75 days before you need to empty it, I’d imagine most pet owners would need to empty it every one to two weeks. In a week of use, my bag was already filling up.

Personally, I’d love to see a reusable bin to hold the dirt versus a disposable bag as the cost could add up pretty quickly. However, you can always just empty the dust bin manually by opening the top of the vacuum and removing the bin.

Throughout every vacuum session, it avoided obstacles easily and rarely bumped against anything. It even seemed to adjust itself to get over a few picky rugs that roll up easily.

Impressive Mopping

Many robot vacuums just have a pad on the bottom that scoots along as the vacuum moves. The Ecovacs DEEBOT T10 Omni uses two rotating pads that literally scrub up messes. You can even set it to recognize dirtier areas so that it cleans over them better to remove more messes.

There isn’t a water tank in the vacuum itself. Instead, you fill the clean water tank to the indicated water level. An indented area inside the station fills up and wets the pads. Then, the vacuum proceeds to mop until the pads start to dry a little.

The T10 Omni returns back to the station, rinses the pads, sucks the dirty water in the the dirty water tank, and re-wets the pads for another round of mopping. The pads rotate against textured spots inside the station to better clean them. It even avoids rugs and carpets automatically when mopping.

Since I knew I would be reviewing this, I left an area under a rug in a high traffic area dirty. There was stuck-on dirt and stains that usually take a lot of elbow grease to remove. The Ecovacs DEEBOT T10 Omni took several passes, but removed about 90% of it. I had to do a second round of mopping to completely remove everything, but this is the closest replacement to manual mopping that I’ve seen.

After the third pass over, this is what the floor looked like.

I was thoroughly impressed with the hot air dry too. Instead of leaving the pads out to air dry, you can turn on the hot air dry mode, which takes two to three hours. The hot air helps sanitize and prevent bacteria from building up.

Using the App and Yiko

Yiko was a fun bonus and it works quite well. Simply say “OK Yiko” along with the command, and the vacuum’s off and running.

The app itself is a little confusing. You have to tap “Enter Smart Cleaning” to get to any of the controls, which at first glance feels more like an automatic cleaning mode.

However, once you take the time to explore all the settings, which there are many, it’s an easy app to use. It just feels a little cluttered, though.

From the app, I was also able to turn on the HD camera. It worked well and makes a great security camera or pet cam.

Final Thoughts

After using the Ecovacs DEEBOT T10 Omni, I have to admit it’s an impressive and cool vacuum that lives up to the features it promises. My only big complaint is having to use disposable bags that may not last the full 60 days in some homes. Otherwise, it really does feel like a hands-free experience.
